The “Center for Eating and feeding Disorders Research (CEDaR)” at the Psychiatric Center Ballerup (Herlev and Gentofte Hospital) seeks a research assistant/junior postdoc to join a strong international research environment in eating disorders, starting as soon as possible. The position will be offered at 30-37 hours per week.
The position
You will contribute to a large grant studying risk and resilience for eating disorders, in particular to two sub-studies using advanced and cutting-edge neuroimaging techniques, for example ultra-high field Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI). You will have diverse tasks and responsibilities, depending on your level of expertise including participant recruitment, coordinating and carrying out neuroimaging data collection, data analysis, writing manuscripts etc. in collaboration with in-house, national and international collaborators.
You will join a dynamic team and work across CEDaR. The team is multidisciplinary and international, and it includes researchers working in neuroscience, psychotherapy, genetics, epidemiology, etc.
As well as benefitting from this large collaborative grant, you will benefit from an extensive network of collaborations both within Denmark and abroad.
You will report to the Head of Research at CEDaR Professor Nadia Micali and will work closely with Senior Postdoctoral Researcher in Neuroimaging and Neuropsychology Doctor Edoardo Pappaianni).
Tasks
You will be responsible for the day-to-day running of two neuroimaging studies with high international impact. You will carry out MRI data collection of patients and healthy controls, ensuring successful data collection, and apply your research expertise to the project. There will also be opportunities to become involved in other projects in the Center related to your research field.

Qualifications
The ideal applicant:
- Will be highly motivated to drive and pursue research in eating disorders
- Has an MSc (or PhD) in neuroscience, cognitive science, neuropsychology, computer science or related fields
- Has experience in eating disorders research [desirable]
- Is an enthusiastic researcher, with some experience in carrying out research in psychiatry/neuroscience.
- Has strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- Is self-directed and proactive
- Has demonstrated strong communication and presentation skills
- Has experience of neuroimaging techniques (e.g., MRI, fMRI)
- Has experience in carrying out neuroimaging studies (data collection and data analysis) [desirable]
- Has basic knowledge of statistics and data analysis
- Has excellent oral and written communication skills in English
- Is fluent in Danish
Depending on your level, you must demonstrate original academic production in the field of psychiatry/neuroscience, as evidenced by peer reviewed publications in English.
Participation in international networks and collaboration with researchers and key institutions within eating disorders or epidemiology is an advantage.

The position will be offered at 30-37 hours per week and is available at the earliest convenience.
Salary, pension and other conditions of employment are set in accordance with the Agreement between the Ministry of Finance and AC (Danish Confederation of Professional Associations) or other relevant organisations.
The position is in accordance with best Danish labour practices, including a 37-hour work week, six weeks of paid vacation per annum, funded parental leave, matched pension contributions, enrolment in national healthcare, and labour union representation.
The position is funded by a 7-year Laureate award from the Novo Nordisk Foundation (NNF) grant to Professor Nadia Micali and offered for a fixed-term of 1 year, that can be extended to 3.

- Has worked in an academic setting in Denmark or abroad.
- Expertise in longitudinal data analyses, psychiatric epidemiology, longitudinal analyses of behavioural data.
- Is an enthusiastic researcher, with experience in carrying out research in psychiatry/psychology/behavioural sciences/epidemiology.
- Has excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
- Has published peer reviewed data-based papers.
- It is desirable but not necessary to have experience in eating disorders research.

Since 2017, treatment of all adult patients with Eating Disorders in the Capital region has been located at Mental Health Centre Ballerup, and around one thousand patients are referred for treatment each year, making it one of the largest clinics for Eating Disorders in Europe.
Mental Health Center Ballerup is a part of Copenhagen University Hospital and one of nine departments, that provide treatment for mental disorders in the Capital Region of Denmark. The department consists of ten inpatient wards comprising 157 beds, nine outpatient clinics with several specialized functions and three research groups. We employ around 90 medical doctors and 80 psychologists in addition to nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, social workers, and technical and administrative staff.
