Do you want to support research in eating disorders? Are you particularly interested in doing research on clinical manifestatuons of eating disorders?
The Center for Eating and feeding Disorders Research (CEDaR) at Mental Health Center Ballerup is looking to appoint a dedicated research assistant to support research on eating disorders, particularly studies on ARFID. The position is expected to start in July 2025 or as soon as possible thereafter. It will be offered at 80–100% FTE and initially for one year, with the possibility of extension.
The position and tasks
The successful candidate will support ongoing clinical research at CEDaR, with a particular focus on:
- Contributing to other clinical studies as needed, including carrying out semi-structured diagnostic interviews, administering cognitive assessments, and recruiting participants.
- Participating in collaborative research projects between CEDaR and other clinical centers. This includes involvement in validating assessment instruments, collecting data, and contributing to planning and starting projects, contributing to data analyses and write up of articles.
- Contribute to general tasks within CEDaR.
The Center for Eating and feeding Disorders Research (CEDaR) https://www.psykiatri-regionh.dk/cedar/Pages/default.aspx is a multicultural and multidisciplinary team recently set up with a large portfolio of grants, across epidemiological, genetic, neuroimaging, and clinical intervention studies in feeding and eating disorders. We are a dynamic, collaborative, and international team, that is rapidly growing. The unit has several international collaborations with the UK, US, Norway, Sweden, Germany, Switzerland.
Research in eating disorders is a highly prioritized research area of the Mental Health Services in the Capital Region of Denmark. We have a strong commitment to perform research at the highest international level with the aim of providing new insights into what causes eating disorders and better treatments for patients.
Qualifications
We are looking for a motivated and structured individual who is interested in contributing to clinical research on eating and feeding disorders.
Essential qualifications include:
- A master’s degree in psychology
- Strong interest in eating disorders
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in Danish and English.
- Ability to work independently.
- Experience with or willingness to learn psychological tests, including clinical and cognitive test administration.
- Prior experience in research or clinical work in psychiatry, eating disorders, or child psychology is an advantage but not a requirement.
- Experience of working in a team and a collaborative approach to research
Salary, pension and other conditions of employment are set in accordance with the Agreement between the Ministry of Finance and AC (Danish Confederation of Professional Associations) or other relevant organisations.
The position is in accordance with best Danish labour practices, including a 37-hour work week, six weeks of paid vacation per annum, funded parental leave, matched pension contributions, enrolment in national healthcare, and labour union representation.
The position is initially offered for a fixed-term of one year with the possibility of an extension.
